Allergic to metal- somebody help me, please!?
lately i've noticed that the metal in my jeans seems to cause a red itchy rash on my stomach, the metal back of my watch turns my skin a silvery color and its also red and itchy, and for a long time now i can't wear earrings because my ears will itch and fill with puss in the holes.
is there really such thing as being allergic to metal and how can you control it?
** note: for the earrings: i've tried every metal out there hypoallergenic, sterling silver, real silver, all variations of gold, nickel, everything. the symptom happened in the order of ears, belly, then wrist.
can somebody help or point me in the right direction?
Being allergic to metal is well known. For most people with this allergy it is likely a genetic trait. However, if you have been exposed to metals, or been poisoned by them you can develop a temporary allergy. Do you have any metal fillings in your teeth? If you notice any other symptoms, nausea, blurred vision, stuff like that you need to go see the doctor for some tests. Otherwise, try switching to platinum. I've never read about anybody being allergic to platinum, plus its really cool...
