anyone know how to rewire an alarm clock so that it activates a light upon sounding?
I bought a Sony "Dream Machine" alarm clock (color is black), and I just had this crazy idea: what if I could wire up the clock so that it turns on a mini light on my desk whenever it alarms? Is there a way of doing this? For those of you that are electronic hobbyists, if you could send me a site that shows how to do this and many other electronics projects, that would be great!
It should be very easy, just connect a small light bulb in parallel with the speaker. You may need to measure the voltage on the speaker when it buzzes and use a bulb with the same voltage rating.
If you want, add a switch to enable/disable the speaker as well.
make sure the light bulb is connected with the correct polarity.
