Why do modern steel and concrete bridges have a life expectancy of only 50-75 years?
while the Romans built such structures out of bricks and mortar, and they've lasted for millennia? Modern sports stadiums are supposedly only good for 30 years. Compare that to the Roman Coliseum and the Pyramids. So much for modern technology?
Bridges built 50-75 years ago weren't meant for today's traffic loads.
The everyday wear of cars on them, the actual weathering, and probably even polluted (acid) rain accelerates the process.

which of the following watches should i buy?
i am by no means a watch expert, and would like input on what would be the best purchase for a nice starter watch.
i would like to get something that doesnt run on battery, preferably an automatic, but my price range is between $100 and 250, so i am aware that i am somewhat limited.
keep in mind, swiss versus japanese movement is not too important to me. i am just looking for a reputable brand that should last me a while.
from my research, i have narrowed down to 3 choices of my own (they are all stainless steel bands and bezels, my personal preference).

Ladies Wrist
Nurses with tattoo's, Do any of you ladies have visible tattoo's? and if yes, do you have to hide them?
I've got "amor" on my right wrist, and "siempre" on my left wrist, with some stars next to it. People I know are saying they won't let me wear short sleeved scrubs becase of them. But I don't think this is true, my tattoo's are not offensive or send out a bad message .... let me know what you ladies have please.

How do you know if a watch is real silver?
I'm selling these watches on ebay and...stupid me...i don't even know if they're real silver or not. I purchased them from liquidation.com, they're Quartz ICE Men's watches. Here's a picture of them...

It should have the initials in small print SS somewhere on the inside of the watch, followed by 925. This is the common signature of sterling silver.
